A to Z Gator Reading Challenge

A

to Z  Gator Reading Challenge

This year the library is challenging Kindergarten and First grade students to explore authors from across all genres.  Each student who completes the challenge will be acknowledged at the end of the year awards ceremony with a certificate and prize.  Students will also receive a bookmark when they have read and recorded 13 different authors.

The rules are simple:

  • The challenge is open to all students in kindergarten and first grade.

  • For each letter of the alphabet A to Z read a book by an author whose last name starts with that letter.

  • Record that letter, author’s name and the title of the book on the A to Z challenge log.

  • Adults or siblings may read aloud to the student.

  • X is tricky so in our alphabet X stands for an eXtra book by your favorite author

  • Students turn in their completed log by May 29, 2015
